  • Provides interpretive and patient care services within the scope of assigned areas

  • Maintains knowledge of recent advances in respective specialty techniques and technological innovations as they become available

  • Performs acquisitions, verifications, and validations of new laboratory equipment/assays/testing & reporting algorithms

  • Reviews interesting patient cases with infectious disease clinicians, fellows, pathology residents, and medical students through bi-monthly plate rounds covering all aspects of microbiology
